The great Gatsby Party at Victors Schlossberg.
Well, we have been at plenty dinner parties like the Ornellia launch party 2014 in Munich but this event, especially the food was like heaven on earth. Not just the food prepared by Christian Bau awarded with three, I repeat three Michelin Stars! The menu offered everything you can imagine about haut cuisine. Honestly this was my first 12 course menu and every course was just outstanding with a perfect wine paring as well.
The first course was an oyster cocktail with poached French rock oysters and cucumber-crunch.
In between the courses, there has been a great live show containing music and cabaret artistic like Dita von Teese (we can’t publish the images if you know what I mean ;). The hotel even offered free cigars and whisky at the lounge of the newly renovated“Cesars” bar/restaurant, which was amazing and a wonderful touch.
Lets move on with the next courses: The first fishplate was salmon sashimi with jalapeno salsa, sudachi and macadamia nuts, following by an unspoiled beef tatare Asian style. Daniels all time favorite course was the Foie gras with coffee and cherry. Of course lobster shouldn’t be missing in such an exclusive property so Mr Bau made an awesome coconut cream soup with lobster tail in it. My personal favorite course of this evening was the halibut with Japanese eggplant and kojyu-vinaigrette. Very popular for fine dining restaurants is nowadays sous vide cooking so the main course, which was beef shoulder, was perfectly tender and delicious. It would be wrong if I highlight the desserts because every dish was just perfect but the black forest interpretation brought my taste senses to an complete new level!
We have to admit that it was one of the most amazing evenings and Victor's Hotels and Residences know exactly how to through amazing and unforgettable parties. A big thanks to the amazing team at the hotel (service was outstanding of course) and the lovely ladies from the PR and Marketing for the invitation to join this party!
Felix was guest at the Victor's Schloss Berg, however his opinion has not been influenced in any way.
