The Hotlist - The best hotels we have stayed at

After the Blacklist comes the Hotlist. I always insist on following words: "Life is too short to stay in bad hotels". So why book a hotel without knowing if it's going to be good or bad. So here we are, as one of the finest luxury travel blogs in the world we have got you covered with the most luxurious places to stay in Europe, Middle East and Asia. More destinations to follow within the next year (South Africa is on the list as Brazil, the Caribbean and the Maldives - so stay tuned).

Best Hotel All-Time

One & Only Reethi Rah - Maldives

Well, I admit, my last stay was in 2009 but this resort was really overdoing it. Luxury wherever you look, perfect service whenever you want. Amazingly spacious villas, excellent location, outrageously maintained, this resort is the without doubt the best place I have ever stayed at!

Fair 10 out of 10 Points (and on a 100 Points scale it would be a fair 100 out of 100 Points)

Best City Hotel

Corinthia Hotel London - United Kingdom

Stunning, Elegant, Luxurious and Dazzling, are my favorite words to describe this out-of-the-world city hotel. Raffles Istanbul would be on the same position as well, but Corinthia London makes the full points in terms of Location, being literally on Trafalgar Square and River Themse, this is also the best located city hotel I have ever stayed. The Spa? Well, honestly I thought about building the same at home!

Best Seaside Hotel

Regent Porto Montenegro - Montenegro

This one was especially hard for me: Santa Caterina in Amalfi or Villa Dubrovnik should make this round, but the one-hour private boat ride to the beach and the Lido Pool at Regent Porto Montenegro made it to the best summer holiday I have ever had! The vast rooms and heavenly bathrooms were so cool that I return in summer 2017 - or who knows, maybe I'm in for a Last Minute Getaway in 2016. Uhhh, I simply love a hotel with an amazing pool AND a luxurious beach club. READ THE REVIEW

Best Spa & Wellnes Hotel

Stanglwirt Resort - Going am Wilden Kaiser, Austria

There were a lot of competitors (such as the Sonnenalp Resort, Cervosa Serfaus and Stock Resort), but an amazing Suite Upgrade to one of the most wonderful suites I have ever stayed at and the accompany of really good friends made this stay extra special. The combination of the rural design with expensive furniture and a vast spa with one of the most comfortable pools I have ever seen, make this hotel extraordinary and unique in the world.

Best Golf Resort

Terre Blanche Resort - Tourettes, France

There is nothing about this picture-perfect resort: wake-up in a vast suite with terrace overlooking the Provence, have breakfast outdoors with best service, enjoy two golf courses within the secured grounds, dip into the amazing infinity pool before visiting the spa building for one of the best treatments you have ever had. Can a golf holiday be more glamorous? Not at all. READ THE REVIEW

Best Boutique Hotel

CastaDiva Resort & Spa - Lake Como, Italy

Imagine a hotel on a dreamy lake, a villa as the main building and then a location in Italy. Well it does get better: a top notch restaurant, wonderfully dressed staff members, a welcoming smell throughout the entire property (inside and outside from the wonderful trees), a fine spa, excellent lake views from the ultra-luxurious rooms and suites, a glamorous location and the best service we have experienced in Italy. La Dolce Vita? You don't need more!
