48 Hours at The Ritz-Carlton Dubai at Jumeirah Beach

After a bit usual stay at the Emirates Palace, we were so happy to drive to a Ritz Carlton property again. Our driver was already waiting for us in front of the entrance of the Emirates Palace and our journey to Dubai began. Nearly 2 hours later we arrived in style at The Ritz-Carlton Dubai at Jumeirah Beach where we were greeted by three porters and of course by our last names (This would never happen at Emirates Palace)! We knew to be welcome and felt warmly accomodated. The head porter already knew that we are booked on the Club Floor and accompanied us to the magnificent Club Lounge. The whole Club staff was welcoming and the check-in has been done truly relaxed on a sofa. Only 5 minutes later we  were told that we were allocated two Club Rooms with front sea view - which was kind of the best surprise we ever got.

A nice lady from the Club Lounge was accompanying me and Mr. Beverage Executive to our spacious rooms. She opened the door and what I found did impress me. I love the interior style: it is kind of international with a super-luxurious touch. Unbelievable that each and every room looks like mine. Overlooking the pools and beach, I could gather the Atlantis and Palm Jumeirah on the horizon, before falling in love with the several welcome amenities. Still impressed by the bedroom with its super-king-bed and the cozy living area, I was able to step further and discover the cool walk-in wardrobe and the window into the vast bathroom. Held in brown marble, the bathroom is now one of my new favourite hotel bathrooms: A free standing tub with build-in-TV, double vanities with lots of space, a seperated toilet with bidet and a walk-in-shower to dance in. The best? Definitely the colours and the lighting, which could be changed on the touch-paneel next to the bed.

Luckily our room was next to the Club Lounge, which means all-day dining and drinking. There were always staff members around and willing too serve drinks or help with recommendations. The food presentation was not so big as at the Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi and I would say they also have a big choice of Arabian food. During breakfast they had a live cooking station which is a cool plus. We did not experience the dinner presentations as we were trying their Panasian and Italian Restaurants.

On the first evening we met the nice PR Manager who showed us the signature restaurant of the Ritz Carlton Dubai Jumeirah Beach: The Blue Jade Restaurant, a mixture of Panasian cuisine. So we found ourselves in a culinary journey through Asia with different plates to taste. My favourites were the coconut prawns and beef tataki for starters and definitely the black pepper beef for main course. Although the Ginger Lotus Sea Bass was a delight, I never experienced before - such a soft fish course - heaven! For dessert I warmly recommend the souffle - I am normally a total sweety but I fell in love with their souffle.

When we returned from our Dolphin Experience at Atlantis The Palm Jumeirah, we went to the pool area in front of the Club Lounge of The Ritz Carlton Dubai Jumeirah Beach. I am not sure if this was the main pool area, but it looked so nice and we enjoyed a bit the beach facilities. Unfortunately it was not recommended to go into the sea due to jellyfish, which is of course not to avoid with these hot water temperatures. Afterwards we visited the spa: Again we both were impressed of the beautiful interior and the many facilities they offer. Before we went to bed (as we had an early check-out at 4 am - yes I hate early check-outs!) we went to their Italian Restaurant: Splendido. The name is always reminding me on the landmark in Portofino - yes the upscale hotel on top of the breath-taking fisher port! In fact the food was delicious and the service attentive. We had Caprese as a starter and afterwards an interesting interpretation of Ravioli with tomatoes.

Our early departure started with a friendly check-out and ended with a comfortable Limousine ride to the airport - organized by the hotel. All in all our experience at this Ritz Carlton property was truly worldclass and the location is also very convenient, next to the metro station. However taxis in Dubai are affordable enough to go everywhere you want. We could reach the Burj Khalifa in 20 minutes and the hotel even provides a shuttle bus to Mall of Emirates.

The Ritz-Carlton Dubai at Jumeirah Beach is definitely able to compete with all these new upscale hotels opening in Dubai and you should give it a chance to show it's the most personal of all luxury hotels in Dubai!
