Restaurant-Check: Savelberg, Bangkok

Bangkok - What a City! So much to see, so much to do, so much traffic!
If you're looking for a calm and luxurious place for an exquisite meal in the evening you have to try the Savelberg Restaurant!

As soon as we arrived in this wonderful and modern decorated property, we were warmly welcomed by the kind manager Christian. It was great that he explained us a lot about the thai traditions and how the business is done within the Thai mentality. This gave us a first look into the culture - as we just landed a few hours before it was a perfect start!

We startet with three amuse bouches :
- the first amuse bouche was a grilled water melon.
- the second amuse bouche was a triology of Iberico Pork: a fried piece of ham, a miniature burger and a piece of the skin.
- the last amuse was a new interpretation of a Scallop, served inside the shell and decorated with dry ice.

The first course was a truly wonderful lobster salad with fresh asparagus, red curry, artichoke and yuzu vinaigrette (kind of an citrus fruit) - one of the best we ever tried. A Duval Le Roy Champagne matched the softness of this dish heavenly.

The second course was a raw oyster with red vinegar crumble, ginger, garlic and chili.

A fresh mixture of scallops, dried tomatoes, cucumbers and flowers, with gazpacho made the third course - paired with a 2014 Petit Chablis from Domaine Fourrey. A fruity and creamy, French white wine.

A filet of poached north sea turbot with sugar snaps and capers was accompanied by a potato sauce. Congratulations to the chefs - very well done!

The fourth course was a slice of grilled filet of veal, with a perfectly cooked rose core, mushrooms and truffled mashed potatoes as well as a kind of delicious sauce. We all fell in love with this outrageous dish! Of course, only a red wine from Bordeaux was perfect to highlight the wonderful taste of the filet.

The first dessert was a fruit sorbet with a fresh and light yoghurt!

A fresh mixture of red fruits was the main part of dessert. Simply perfect for such a hot evening in Bangkok.

After all, they served us some petit fours out of the best chocolate we've ever tried. Ideal to round up this exciting and out-of-this-world dinner.

You would like to experience such a great dinner? Then you have to visit this Place, they are real masters of their craft. It was definitely one of our best dinners so far and we can just warmly recommend this renowned restaurant!

We were guests of the Savelberg Bangkok, however all above written expresses our own opinion and has not been influenced.
